BATTLE AGAINST SILENCE

Breaking the silence. Reconnecting lives.

About Battle Against Silence

Silence is the hidden struggle. Stigma, isolation, and the feeling that you have to cope alone.
For many ex-service personnel and Forces families, the challenges of service life does not end when the uniform comes off.

Battle Against Silence turns awareness into action, helping ex-service personnel, partners, families and children reconnect with support, community and hope. We work to ensure struggles are recognised earlier, conversations happen sooner, and no one is left to face this alone.

5 veterans lost to suicide every week in the UK

Up to 1 in 3 veterans experience mental-health difficulties

Around 40% of partners report anxiety or depression

1 in 5 children experience mental-health challenges

Why It Matters

Too many Ex-service personnel and Forces families carry things quietly especially during transition, relationship strain, trauma or loneliness. When people feel unable to speak, isolation deepens and silence can turn into crisis.

Battle Against Silence exists to make it easier to speak up, reach out, and be met with understanding rather than judgement — because no one should struggle alone.

We Exist To:

Break stigma and start honest conversations

Reduce isolation through connection and belonging

Help people access local support earliy.
